I'm really good at eating sweets constantly, at any time of the day. No qualms here with 10 a.m. ice cream before breakfast... does the tea make it more appropriate?
To say that Kyoto is rife with green tea and dessert shops would be a gross understatement. One of the most memorable eats was at Kyo Kinana Ice Cream, a charming favorite among foodies. In the second-to-last photo, the glistening scoop sitting alone in its own bowl in the top left is the "dekitate" できたて flavor, meaning "freshly made." See the sublime texture? Having tea with ice cream is one of my favorite combinations -- I hear that a similar combo I should try is pure vanilla ice cream with espresso poured over. Nomm!
